Maddox Hernandez
Attorney at Law
I was born and raised in Arkansas, and my family has been in the state for 7 generations. My mother is a school librarian who taught me the importance of education. I attended Hendrix College on a dance scholarship and worked in the theater program, performing in productions and sewing costumes. I focused much of my college education on my love of language. I double majored in English and French. I was granted the opportunity to become a Murphy Scholar of Literature and Language, which allowed me to study abroad in Italy and France. Near the end of my time in college, I found my calling as a lawyer. After I found myself in court as the victim of a violent crime, I decided to apply to law school.
I was granted a full tuition scholarship at Bowen School of Law, the first and only law school I considered. Bowen allowed me the opportunity to pursue my law degree while remaining connected to my hometown community. I worked as a court observer and research fellow for the Bowen Center for Racial Justice and Criminal Justice Reform where I watched hundreds of cases go through the district courts. I found my passion for family law and custody matters while participating in the Bowen Mediation Clinic.
After law school, I proudly joined Hickey and Hull Law Partners. The attorneys at Hickey and Hull have provided me with excellent mentorship in the start of my practice. I have found early experience in criminal law, domestic relations, and DHS cases. I am particularly grateful for the opportunities to reunite my clients with their children and families and guide them through difficult periods in their lives. I look forward to growing my practice and further serving my Central Arkansas community.
Outside of my practice, I love to sew, garden, and read. I live with my husband, Jordan, and our cat, Heely. Working in Central Arkansas has allowed me to remain close to my family and roots. I spend most of my free time with my siblings and friends. I am an avid fan of reality television and have strong opinions on every iteration of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. Come visit my office if you’re in need of legal advice or want to dish about the latest Tell-All.
